A group with no fixed membership

NCT was launched by SM Entertainment in 2016 as an open-ended franchise rather than a band: one name, an unlimited number of members, and sub-units created for different cities and markets — NCT 127 for Seoul, NCT DREAM for the younger line-up, WayV for China, and NCT WISH from 2024. Members could in principle be added indefinitely. It was a genuinely radical idea at the time and confused nearly everybody, including a large part of the domestic audience. A decade on it has produced one of the largest rosters in pop, and this video sits under that anniversary banner.

“Sticky” was published on 13 April 2026 from NCT WISH’s first full-length album Ode to Love. The album’s title track video is also posted on this board.

Watching from outside Korea

If NCT’s naming has ever looked impenetrable from the outside, that is fair. Start with one sub-unit and ignore the rest until you want them.
