Who are BABYMONSTER?

Seven members under YG Entertainment, and the weight of that name is the story. YG had not launched a new girl group since BLACKPINK in 2016, so when BABYMONSTER debuted in 2024 the comparison was unavoidable and largely unhelpful — they arrived carrying an expectation no rookie group could reasonably meet. The line-up draws from Korea, Japan and Thailand, which is now standard at the major agencies rather than remarkable: Korean pop stopped being staffed only by Koreans some years ago.

About this release

We Go Up is a four-track mini album from 10 October 2025, and this is its title track. Two of the remaining three tracks — “PSYCHO” and “SUPA DUPA LUV” — went on to get full music videos of their own in the following months. Both are posted on this board.

Watching from outside Korea

A “mini album” in Korea is what the rest of the world calls an EP — typically four to six tracks, and the standard release format. Full-length albums are the exception here, not the rule.
