JOY, a member of Red Velvet, released “Love Splash!” through SMTOWN on 18 August 2025. It is the title track of her first mini album, and her first release under her own name since a 2021 covers project.

Why an idol goes by one name

Her legal name is Park Soo-young. JOY is a stage name given at debut, and Korean agencies pick these deliberately: a short, pronounceable English word travels across markets, avoids clashing with existing artists, and is easy to search. Once a stage name is established it usually stays with the performer even into acting work, where JOY has been credited under it in television dramas. The Korean spelling 조이 is simply the English word transliterated, which is why the two forms appear side by side in the title.

“Love Splash!” is the lead track from From JOY, with Love, her first mini album, issued by SM Entertainment. The record carries six tracks: “Love Splash!”, “Get Up And Dance”, “La Vie En Bleu”, “Unwritten Page”, “여름 편지 (Scent Of Green)” and “품 (Cuddle)”. The official description lists no featured artists or outside producers.
