송하예 (Song Ha-yea) released a new version of “LIE” on 7 January 2026, uploaded to a channel called 하예일기장 — literally “Hayea’s diary”. The official notes label it “Remake Edition No.1”, which tells you this is the first entry in a planned series rather than a one-off.

Ballad singers are not idols, and the industry treats them differently

Korean music charts have always run on two parallel tracks. Idol groups work on comeback cycles — concept photos, choreography, fan events, a fixed promotion window. Solo ballad singers like 송하예 operate closer to the older singer-songwriter model: fewer releases, minimal visual staging, and a catalogue that earns steadily on streaming rather than spiking and fading. Their songs tend to climb slowly, driven by playlist placement and seasonal listening habits rather than fandom mobilisation. This is why a ballad vocalist can stay commercially relevant for years without the machinery that surrounds a group, and why their release notes read like liner essays rather than marketing copy.

About this release

This is “LIE (2026 Ver.)”, a re-recorded version of an earlier 송하예 song, published on 7 January 2026 through the 하예일기장 channel. The official description frames it as Remake Edition No.1 and describes the new take as a lower, more restrained reading of the same material rather than a straight repeat of the original.
