Decoding “Ver.”

One K-pop song routinely spawns half a dozen videos, and the suffix tells you which one you are about to watch. Street Ver. and Performance Ver. are choreography filmed outdoors or in a studio, usually in long unbroken takes rather than the fast cuts of an M/V. Dance Practice is exactly that, shot in a mirrored rehearsal room. Relay Dance passes the camera between members. Special Clip and Live Clip are single-take vocal performances. None of these are outtakes — each is produced on purpose for a different appetite.

Why this format survives

Because K-pop choreography is built to be watched, not just danced. An M/V cuts every two seconds and hides the formations; a Street or Performance version leaves the camera still long enough to show eight people holding a shape. For a lot of viewers these versions are the real thing and the music video is the trailer.
