About this release

JYP Entertainment built THIS & THAT as a two-sided release and then extended it with two entirely separate remix packages, This Remixes and That Remixes. “After You” is labelled a “Video” rather than an M/V, and that distinction is worth knowing if you are new to K-pop: an M/V is the flagship music video that carries the promotion, while a “Video” is usually a b-side or companion piece — cheaper to produce, looser in concept, and often where a group puts the material its fans end up liking most.

Why this group writes its own material

Most K-pop groups at this scale record songs commissioned from rotating outside producers. Stray Kids do not. Nearly the entire discography runs through 3RACHA, the in-house production unit of members Bang Chan, Changbin and HAN, who write and produce for the group under that name. It is the single fact that explains the most about them — why their albums lurch between industrial hip-hop, pop-punk and ballads without an obvious house style, and why the b-sides tend to be as fought-over as the singles.
