The soloist who moved agencies but not careers

TAEMIN debuted in 2008 as the youngest member of SHINee under SM Entertainment, and spent roughly sixteen years there before signing with Big Planet Made in 2024. That kind of move used to be rare: Korean idols who left a founding agency often lost momentum, because the agency held the contacts, the choreographers, the video production budget and sometimes the group name itself. What has changed is that a senior artist now arrives with an established audience, so a smaller label can compete for them. TAEMIN also remains a SHINee member — his group activities are handled separately from his solo work.
