YUQI, the Chinese member of the group i-dle, has released “I Like You” as a solo track, with the video posted on the group’s own YouTube channel rather than a separate solo one. She is credited as lyricist and as a co-composer, which puts her name on both halves of the writing credit.
아이들 is an ordinary Korean word meaning “children”
The channel is listed as i-dle (아이들), and 아이들 is not a coinage — it is the everyday plural noun for children, read roughly “ah-ee-deul”. The Latin spelling leans on the near-homophone with “idol” while reading as the English word “idle”. For years the Korean name carried a bracketed prefix, (여자), meaning “female”, rendered as (G) in English; the group dropped it in 2025 and now goes by i-dle alone. So a Korean speaker sees a plain word, and a foreign reader sees a pun the Korean does not quite contain.
About this release
The video went up on 2 October 2026 KST under the title “YUQI ‘I Like You’ Official Music Video”. The official description names no album or EP — only the credits: lyrics by YUQI, composition by YUQI with Val Del Prete and Gionata Caracciolo, both credited through NUMBER K. Rights are held by CUBE Entertainment, i-dle’s agency.
Watching from outside Korea
Searching “idle” or “(G)I-DLE” will both still surface this act, since the older spelling remains attached to most of the catalogue. For solo work, search the member’s name instead — YUQI, or 우기 in Korean.
