YG Entertainment was started by a dancer from Seo Taiji and Boys

TREASURE are signed to YG Entertainment, one of the largest Korean agencies, and the company exists because of a group that broke up thirty years ago. Seo Taiji and Boys, active from 1992 to 1996, are commonly treated in Korea as the dividing line between older Korean popular song and everything that followed. When the trio disbanded, one of its two dancers, Yang Hyun-suk, founded the label that became YG. The agency behind this release therefore traces directly back to a performer from the group Koreans credit with starting the whole industry.
