Leaving Korea: plan backwards from your flight
Confirm the departure terminal and airline deadlines, then allow for travel, baggage, security and the walk to the gate. An airport train arrival time is only one part of the departure plan.
Separate the deadlines
Your airline's check-in and bag-drop deadlines can occur well before the flight time. Confirm them directly for your route and ticket. Add the time needed to reach the terminal and locate the correct counter; do not use a general rule as a replacement for the airline's instructions.
Check whether self-service fits your trip
Incheon Airport lists restrictions on self check-in and bag drop, including some document checks and special travel circumstances. If traveling with unusual baggage, an infant or a need for assistance, confirm the appropriate counter process. A kiosk being available does not mean every passenger can use it.
Keep documents and baggage organized
Keep the boarding pass and identification accessible and consult current airport and airline baggage guidance. Pack so that you can follow staff instructions without emptying every bag. Retrieve stored luggage before the storage counter closes and include that stop in your route.
Leave room for a change
Check your flight and ground transport before leaving. If a delay appears, follow the airline's instructions rather than assuming you may arrive later. Save the airline contact, booking reference and confirmed terminal in one place.
