Travel in Korea using your preferred language
English is one option, not a requirement for every trip. Prepare important names and requests in Korean, keep your preferred language visible and confirm the language available for each activity.
Build a small bilingual travel note
Save the Korean name and address of your accommodation, major destinations and meeting points. Beside each one, add a description in your own language. Keep booking dates, party size and dietary requirements as separate lines so that a translation tool does not bury them in a long paragraph.
Ask about language before booking
Use a direct question: Is [language] available for this activity on [date]? Clarify whether that means a live host, an interpreter, translated written material or an audio guide. These services give different experiences. Confirm any interpretation fee and whether the person will be available throughout the activity.
When a translation becomes ambiguous
Use short sentences and one request at a time. Show quantities and local times in writing. Ask the other person to repeat the agreed date, place and number of people. For ingredients or cancellation terms, a guessed translation is less useful than a clear request for confirmation.
