TAEMIN returns with ‘FLOAT’, the music video released on his own YouTube channel on 31 August 2026. The clip is tied to a release the official description labels PHASE 1 : Soft Violence.

The maknae who debuted at fourteen

TAEMIN joined SHINee in 2008 as the group’s 막내 (maknae), the youngest member — a term Korean uses for the youngest sibling in any family and, by extension, in any group. He was fourteen at debut, which is young even by the standards of a system that recruits teenagers. That matters for reading his solo career: he has been a working performer for the whole of his adult life, and by the time he began releasing solo material in 2014 he already had six years of group promotions behind him. Few soloists in Korean pop carry that much runway before their first solo record.

About this release

‘FLOAT’ is the subject of an official music video published on 31 August 2026 to the 태민 (TAEMIN) channel, which also holds the copyright line. The description places the song under a release titled PHASE 1 : Soft Violence and marks it as out now. No featured artist, producer or additional credits are listed in the official description.
