Cheongwansan Literature Park (천관산 문학공원)
Jeollanamdo Yeonji-ri, Jangheung-gun, Jeollanam-do Cheongwansan Literature Park is located on the outskirts of Cheongwansan Mountain in Jangheung. The mountain itself is known for a unique array of odd-shaped rocks and ridges, attracting many visitors year-round. Jangheung is nicknamed ‘Literature Town’ for its history of producing outstanding writers. The park commemorates these writers and their development of the modern style of Korean poems, novels, and essays (including Song Gi-suk, Han Seung-won, and Lee Cheong-jun) with a total of 54 monuments; each displaying the best of each writer’s works. A separate monument (7 stories/15m) contains works and handwritten manuscripts by 35 writers and their chronologies in capsules. In addition, over 460 stone towers leading to Tapsansa Temple await visitors.

Chungju Mireukdaewon Stone Temple Site (충주 미륵대원지)
Chungcheongbukdo 150, Mireungnisaji-gil, Chungju-si, Chungcheongbuk-do Mireukdaewon Stone Temple Site, Historic Site No. 317, faces south in the basin of the Haneuljae Pass between Chungcheongbuk-do and Gyeongsangbuk-do. It is said that Mauitaeja, the last prince of the Silla Kingdom, had a dream one night as he was traveling to Geumgangsan Mountain where the Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva instructed him to erect a statue of Buddha. As a result, he built a temple to honor the goddess’ wish at the current site of Mireuk-ri. The temple name was discovered through excavation research in 1977 and 1978 by Cheongju University, while the temple grounds were more thoroughly investigated by a team of researchers from Ewha Woman's University in 1980.

Cheongtaesan National Recreational Forest (국립 청태산자연휴양림)

In the summer, the forest is a convenient stopover for vacationers headed for the East Coast and both children and adults can enjoy learning about the local ecology at the Forest Education Facility.

Chungju Jungangtap Park (중앙탑공원 (충주))
Chungcheongbukdo 6 , Tapjeongan-gil, Chungju-si, Chungcheongbuk-do Chungju Jungangtap Park is home to the Seven-story Stone Pagoda in Tappyeong-ri (National Treasure), set before the beautiful scenery of the Namhangang River. The stone pagoda was built during the Unified Silla period and was the largest stone pagoda at that time. Because of its location in the middle of the nation, it was called Jungangtap (jungang means middle in Korean). The area around the pagoda was made into a sculpture park, with 26 art pieces from artists all over the country.

Gyeongsangbukdo 1 Naeryong-ri, Juwangsan-myeon, Cheongsong-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do Cheongsong Eoreumgol Valley is a gorge located on Juwangsan Mountain in Cheongsong. It is known for its warm winters and cool breezes in the summer, creating a mystical atmosphere. In May 2017, it was recognized for its geological value and certified as a UNESCO Global Geopark. During the summer, when the temperature exceeds 32 degrees Celsius, ice forms in the valley, melting when the temperature drops below 32 degrees Celsius. The area boasts impressive rock formations and stunning landscapes, attracting many tourists with its springs, and artificial falls.

Chungju Hwalok Cave (충주 활옥동굴)
Chungcheongbukdo 26 Mokbeoran-gil, Chungju-si, Chungcheongbuk-do Developed in 1922 during the Japanese Forced Occupation, this is the only talc mine in Korea and is the largest in the East, with a recorded length of 57km, an unofficial length of 87km, and an underground vertical x_height of 711m. A 2.5km-long stretch of the cave has been developed into a tourist site, filled with light sculptures, performance venues, and health therapy zones. LED, neon, and a variety of natural lights create a mysterious atmosphere, and since the temperature stays between 11 and 15 degrees year-round, it's even more popular in summer. There is also a kayaking experience that allows visitors to see inside the cave by kayaking in a lake created by mineral water. Note that the temperature inside the cave averages between 11 and 15 degrees Celsius, which is warm in the winter but cold in the summer, so you'll want to bring a long-sleeved jacket.

Cheongseokgul Cave (옥화1경 청석굴)
Chungcheongbukdo 12-16 Unam 3-gil, Miwon-myeon, Sangdang-gu, Cheongju-si, Chungcheongbuk-do Cheongseokgul Cave is a natural cave where prehistoric humans lived, with artifacts from the Paleolithic era, such as choppers and chopping tools (hammers), points, and hand axes, discovered inside. The place stays cool even during hot summer, and is currently home to bats and golden-capped fruit bats. Nearby attractions are an artificial waterfall and a sky observatory with a valley in front of the cave available for water activities and kayaking.

Chungju Dam (충주댐)
Chungcheongbukdo 737, Chungjuhosu-ro, Chungju-si, Chungcheongbuk-do Chungju Dam is the nation’s largest multipurpose concrete dam and plays a role in water resources planning and management, prevention of flood damage, and electric power production. The dam area features various facilities like the Water Exhibition Hall, Memorial Tower, a resting area, and a tour boat dock. As for the structure, the dam is 97.5 meters high and 447 meters long. Beneath the main dam, there is a balancing reservoir dam which is 21 meters high and 480.7 meters long.

Chungjangsa Shrine (충장사)
Gwangju 13, Songgang-ro, Buk-gu, Gwangju When you reach Baejae along the tourist road leading up to Wonhyosa Temple, you can see the well-maintained tomb and the magnificent building of Chungjangsa Shrine on the left. It was built in 1975 as a memorial to General Kim Deok-ryeong, born in Mudeungsan Mountain. In the precincts, there are the shrine, where Kim Deok-ryeong's portrait and command paper are enshrined; the east room and west room; Eullyun Monument and Commentary Monument, the relics hall; Chungyongmun Gate; and Ikomun Gate. In the relics hall, the clothes of 'General Kim Deok-ryeong,' designated as Important Folk Material, and the coffin excavated from the general's tomb, as well as his handwriting, are on display. On the hill behind the shrine is Kim Deok-ryeong's tomb and tombstone, as well as his family's tomb.

Cheongsapo Port (청사포)
Busan Jung-dong, Haeundae-gu, Busan Cheongsapo Port is located on the right side near the end of Dalmaji Hill in the direction of Songjeong in Haeundae. Along with Gudeokpo Port and Mipo Port, Cheongsapo Port is among the three ports lined against the coastal shore between Haeundae and Songjeong. Cheongsapo Port is famous as a place to view beautiful sunrises and where quality seaweed can be found. The rocks scattered along the port's shore are crowded with fishers. Railroad tracks that run along the shoreline make the area even more special, known to be one of the only two railroad tracks in Korea to be situated near the sea. The area around the port gained popularity after appearing in a movie, and many restaurants have opened up, selling the freshest seafood.

Chungdong First Methodist Church (서울 정동교회)
Seoul 46, Jeongdong-gil, Jung-gu, Seoul Chungdong Church, having being completed in 1897, was the first Christian church that was built after the spread of Protestantism in Korea. The church was founded in 1887 as a small worship house under the name Bethel by Henry Gerhard Appenzeller, an American missionary. As the number of followers increased, the building underwent construction and officially became a church in 1895. Chungdong Church is the only remaining church building from the 19th century. The church was expanded once more in 1926, changing its from a cross-shaped building to a square one. The expansion was made by adding walls using bricks as not to damage the original building structure. The architecture was built in a simplified version of an American gothic house with arched window frames.

Cheongsapo Daritdol Observatory (청사포 다릿돌전망대)
Busan 167 Cheongsapo-ro, Haeundae-gu, Busan Cheongsapo Daritdol Observatory, which opened on September 17, 2017, is located in the middle of the closed railroad of the Donghae Nambu Line from Mipo to Songjeong. It is 20 meters high from the sea level, 72.5 meters long toward the sea, and 3 to 11.5 meters wide. A half-moon-shaped transparent floor is installed at the end of the observatory, allowing visitors to feel the thrill of walking on the sea. From right in front of the observatory to the marine lighthouse, visitors can enjoy the beautiful coastal scenery of Cheongsapo and as well as the view of sunrise and sunset while looking at Daritdol, which refers to five neatly lined up reefs. Chungcheong Suyeongseong Fortress in Boryeong (보령 충청수영성)
Chungcheongnamdo Chungcheongsuyeong-ro, Ocheon-myeon, Boryeong-si, Chungcheongnam-do Chungcheong Suyeongseong Fortress in Boryeong is a stone fortress built by the Joseon dynasty (1392-1897) in the 16th century to defend against invasions through the Hwanghae Sea. It offers a picturesque view of the Hwanghae Sea and several islands. The entrance to the fortress, called Manghwamun Gate, showcases stone artistry with its polished granite arch. This site also has historical significance as a place where Catholic persecution occurred in the 19th century.

Cheongsan Arboretum (청산수목원)
Chungcheongnamdo 70, Yeonkkot-gil, Taean-gun, Chungcheongnam-do Cheongsan Arboretum is home to over 200 different kinds of wildflowers, trees, and water plants such as lotuses and water lilies. Theme gardens and walking trails have over 600 types of trees. Opened in 1990, the garden has the most water plants in the nation.

Cheongpyeonghoban Maeuntang Village (청평호반 매운탕촌)
Gyeonggido Hoegok-ri, Seorak-myeon, Gapyeong-gun, Gyeonggi-do Cheongpyeonghoban Maeuntang Village is located on the shores of Cheongpyeongho Lake, designated a national attraction in 1943. The restaurants gathered here serve maeuntang (spicy fish stew), haemul tang (spicy seafood stew), sanchae jeongsik (set menu with seasoned wild vegetables) and many other traditional foods.
