Cheongdoeupseong Walled Town (청도읍성)
Gyeongsangbukdo 48-1 Dongsang-ri, Hwayang-eup, Cheongdo-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do The walled town was built during the Goryeo dynasty and has endured through the Joseon dynasty and to the present. The walled town was destroyed during a war in the mid-Joseon dynasty and demolished under Japanese colonial rule, but it was restored and reconstructed to what visitors see now. Its long walls on flat land are beautiful, and it is a popular walking trail for locals and travelers in the late spring and late summer. Regardless of gender or age, anyone can walk comfortably and easily on the smooth trail while enjoying the beauty of each season.In addition, visitors can have a cup of coffee at many unique cafes around the walled town while admiring the view of the walls.

Cheongdo Stone Ice Storage (청도 석빙고)
Gyeongsangbukdo 119-3 Dongsang-ri, Hwayang-eup, Cheongdo-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do Stone ice storage was a type of building used to store ice in the past. Some of them are preserved today in Korea, including Gyeongju, Andong, and Cheongdo in the Gyeongsang-do area. The Cheongdo Stone Ice Storage was constructed during the Joseon dynasty, and now just part of the ceiling remains, allowing visitors to see inside. As a building used to store ice, it was built in the form of a warehouse dug into the ground. While looking around and observing the interior is possible, visitors may not enter the icehouse for safety reasons. At night, there are lights on around the ice storage, which makes viewing possible at anytime. It is located across from Cheongdoeupseong Walled Town, making it a good stop when visiting.

Cheongdo Provence (청도 프로방스)

Cheongdo Namsan Valley (청도 남산계곡)
Gyeongsangbukdo 68-32 Dongcheon-ri, Hwayang-eup, Cheongdo-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do Namsan Valley finds its source in a modest stream located on the northern slopes of Namsan Mountain in Cheongdo. This charming valley, adorned with rocky cliffs and crystal-clear waters, provides a refreshing respite from the sweltering summer heat. At the entrance to the valley, you'll encounter the Cheongdo Stone Ice Storage, a historical gem and the oldest stone ice storage facility in Korea. Strolling further along the valley, you'll find lines of intriguing rocks, carved with poems, including Chwiam and Ungeumcheon. These natural landmarks served as gathering spots for Seonbi, scholars from the Goryeo and Joseon periods, who came here to revel in the beauty of nature and craft spontaneous poems, fostering a deep appreciation for the arts.

Cheongoksan National Recreational Forest (국립 청옥산자연휴양림)
Gyeongsangbukdo 1552-163, Cheongok-ro, Bonghwa-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do Cheongoksan National Recreational Forest is located in Bonghwa-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do. The forest is composed of 100-year-old white pine trees brimming with pine nuts, along with pines and larches. In the forest, you can see the trees standing tall amidst the majestic rock formations. If you walk along the mountain trail, you will come to a suspension bridge, and after crossing, you will enter a section of forest that has maintained an old, almost primeval, feeling. In spring, beautiful wild flowers blossom throughout the forest, magnolias in particular, bloom within the valley. Cheongoksan National Recreational Forest features a variety of facilities such as a nearby water park, children’s playground, fitness center, campsite and an outdoor lecture field. The water in the water park is cold and very clean, using natural stream water. In nearby Baekcheongyegok Valley, you may also see Manchurian trout, which live in clean, fresh water streams. Hyeonbulsa Temple is also located in the valley.

Cheongoksan Mountain (Bonghwa) (청옥산(봉화))
Gyeongsangbukdo Daehyun-ri, Seokpo-myeon, Bonghwa-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do Cheongoksan Mountain, towering 1,277 meters above sea level, stands southeast of Mangyeongdae Observatory atop Taebaeksan Mountain. The entire mountain area is designated as a national recreational forest. As the largest of its kind in Korea, it offers an array of facilities including a water playground, fitness station, and campground. Midway up the moutain, visitors can discover Hongjesa Temple and marvel at Goseon Valley, where a 40km-long stream gracefully skirts the mountain. Nearby attractions include Hyeonbulsa Temple, known for its Pagoda to the Fallen Patriots, Bulyoungsa Temple, Cheongnyangsan Mountain, and Samijeong Pavillion.

Cheongdo Hanok School (청도한옥학교)
Gyeongsangbukdo 156, Yangjeong-gil, Cheongdo-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do Located on the slopes of Namsan Mountain, the Cheongdo Hanok School is an educational center for carpenters who specialize in hanok (traditional Korean architecture). Hanok buildings hold cultural and historical values and the school has been gaining in popularity not only among carpenters, but also those who are interested in enjoying and upholding Korea's proud architectural history. The entrance of the school is marked with a large traditional "Neowa" (a house roofed with thick, unfinished shingles of pine) that immediately catches the eye. The school provides three types of courses. There is a basic carpentry course to teach people how to make wooden objects and structures, a course to nurture professional carpenters, and a course to teach carpenters how to build Hanok. The school’s hands-on programs offer visitors a chance to make a traditional Korean window and to saw and plane wood. There are cultural programs for children as well. Children, along with their parents, can make rice cake by pounding rice with a large hammer, bake sweet potatoes, or join a seminar on traditional Korean houses. The cultural programs change with each season.

Cheongnyangsan Provincial Park (청량산도립공원)
Gyeongsangbukdo 39, Gwangseok-gil, Bonghwa-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do Cheongnyangsan Mountain, with an altitude of 870 meters, is hidden away from civilization. Attractions in the mountain are 12 peaks including Geumtapbong Peak, eight caves, Gwangchangpokpo Falls, and Cheongnyangsa Temple, built by Buddhist monk Wonhyo during King Munmu’s third year of reign during the Silla Period (57 BC - AD 935). Behind the Cheongnyangsan Provincial Park’s entrance boulder is a monument with a poem inscribed on it by the famous scholar Toegye Yi Hwang of the Joseon period called Cheongnyangsanga. Aside from Toegye Yi Hwang, Wonhyo and Uisang, caligraphy master Gimsaeng, scholar Choi Chi-won, and many others came to this mountain to cultivate their arts. Their presence still lingers in legends, being retold to this day.

Cheomseongdae Observatory (경주 첨성대)
Gyeongsangbukdo 140-25 Cheomseong-ro, Gyeongju-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do Cheomseongdae Observatory, constructed during the reign of Queen Seondeok (r. 632-647), is one of the landmarks of Gyeongju. The observatory was built in a cylinder shape at approximately 9 meters in x_height. The observatory consists of 365 stones, symbolizing the number of days in a year. Gyeongsangbukdo 386 Byeongsan-gil, Andong-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do Before it became a Confucian academy, Byeongsanseowon Confucian Academy was originally located in Pungsang-hyeon under the name Pungakseodang School, which was used as a educational institution since the Goryeo dynasty by a political party known as the Sarim Party. It was moved to its current location in Byeongsan by a well-respected Confucian scholar named Yu Seong-nyong, penname Seoae, in 1572, and renamed to Byeongsanseowon in 1614.In 1863, Byeongsanseowon was recognized by the king to receive support as a private Confucian academy. The lecture hall and shrine were reconstructed in 1921 and 1937 respectively as part of preservation efforts made during the Japanese occupation. This academy is designated as a Historic Site, housing a collection of 1,000 documents and 3,000 books, including works by Yu Seong-nyong.

Buyongdae Cliff (부용대)
Gyeongsangbukdo 72 Gwangdeoksolbat-gil, Andong-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do Buyongdae Cliff is about 64 meters high, situated where the Taebaek Mountain Range ends. From the summit, one can get a bird’s-eye-view of Hahoe Village in Andong. The name was taken from the ancient name of the village in Chinese. Meaning lotus, Buyong is said to have been the name of Hahoe Village, given its configuration of houses spread out like a lotus flower. Thus, one can get the best view of the village from the cliff. Located near Buyongdae are Ogyeonjeongsa House, Gyeomamjeongsa House, and Hwacheonseowon Confucian Academy.◎ Travel information to meet Hallyu’s charm - variety show"I Am Solo"This spot featured in the show as a date spot. The participants sat on mats laid out by the Nakdonggang River and took pictures in pairs with Buyongdae Cliff in the background. Bunhwangsa Temple (분황사)
Gyeongsangbukdo 94-11 Bunhwang-ro, Gyeongju-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do Bunhwangsa Temple, located next to the ruins of Hwangnyongsa Temple in Gyeongju, was established in 634 during the Silla dynasty. Visitors can see cultural assets such as the Stone Brick Pagoda designated as a national treasure, and the Pedestal for the Stele of State Preceptor Hwajaeng registered as a Historic Site. Despite being a significant and ancient temple, much of it was lost during wars such as the Mongolia invasions and the Japanese invasions of Korea, leaving only a few buildings and temple grounds like Bogwangjeon Hall. Nearby, there is the Hwangnyongsa Museum.
