Arriving at Incheon Airport: your first travel plan
Confirm the actual arrival terminal, collect your baggage and choose a connection that reaches your accommodation. Leave flexible time between landing and your first reservation.
Use the flight, not just the airline name
Incheon Airport warns that codeshares and operating circumstances can change the terminal. Check your flight details and the airport's flight information shortly before travel. Send anyone meeting you the flight number and confirmed terminal, then agree on a named arrival-hall meeting point.
Allow time after landing
The airport arrival guide separates immigration, baggage collection and the arrival hall. Landing time is not the time you will be ready to board a train or meet a driver. Avoid planning a tightly timed meal after your expected landing, particularly if you have checked bags.
Prepare the final part of the journey
Compare transport using your accommodation's Korean address and check-in instructions. A service that reaches a major station may still leave a transfer or walk with luggage. Save the last connection and a fallback before departure, and tell the accommodation if your arrival is likely to be late.
Keep one arrival note available offline
Record the flight, terminal, accommodation address, host contact, preferred route and backup route together. Add the exact pickup meeting point if booked. Follow official airport and airline instructions for entry procedures; this checklist does not determine immigration eligibility.
Worked example: a late arrival with luggage
Example, not a transport timetable: you land at 21:00 and your accommodation requires check-in before midnight. First confirm the terminal, then check the last usable connection to the accommodation address, including the final walk or transfer. If the route cannot leave room for arrival procedures and delays, arrange late check-in or a different transfer before flying. Do not use the last departure from the airport as proof that every onward connection is still running.
A message to send before departure
Hello, my flight [number] is scheduled to arrive at [terminal] at [time/date]. My accommodation address is [Korean address]. Please confirm the latest check-in time and what I should do if arrival is delayed. If a pickup is arranged, please send the meeting point, contact number, luggage allowance and total price.
