Samunjin Jumakchon Village (사문진 주막촌)

Daegu 40-12 Samunjin-ro 1-gil, Hwawon-eup, Dalseong-gun, Daegu Samunjin was the location of a ferry dock on the Nakdonggang River in the past. During the Japanese occupation, the area was turned into a recreation ground, which saw many people coming to enjoy leisure strolls. In November 2013, three hanok jumak (traditional dining establishment) were built at the site of the old dock and the current Samunjin Jumakchon Village was opened. The jumak serve a range of foods that were enjoyed in the past, such as makgeolli, gukbap, and buchujeon (chives pancake). The village is well-known as a place to enjoy the sunset.

Samtan Art Mine (삼탄아트마인)

Gangwondo 1445-44, Hambaeksan-ro, Jeongseon-gun, Gangwon-do Samtan Art Mine is an art complex transformed from an abandoned mine. After being used as a coal mine for 40 years, the mine turned into an art complex in 2001. With more than 100,000 art works on exhibit as well as the harmony between the art installations and the interior, which still maintains elements of the former coal mine, the art mine creates a unique atmosphere that cannot be found elsewhere. With lots to see and the availability of many special programs, Samtan Art Mine offers an unique experience and serves as a great photo spot for tourists.

Samsunsan Arboretum (삼선산수목원)

Chungcheongnamdo 79 , Samseonsansumogwon-gil, Dangjin-si, Chungcheongnam-do Samseonsan Arboretum is a nature experience learning center and home to over 1,160 different species of plants. In addition to outdoor gardens where you can enjoy a variety of flowers and trees, there are also 10 facilities including an exhibition greenhouse, Kid's Dream Forest, and Korean Peninsula Park. It also features 23 exhibit gardens such as a hydrangea garden and azalea garden. Moreover, the arboretum presents diverse and beautiful sceneries during each season and is well-equipped with convenience facilities including a children's playground in the forest, a picnic area, cafe, and a water play area. Samsung Transportation Museum (삼성화재 교통박물관)

Gyeonggido 171, Everland-ro 376beon-gil, Cheoin-gu, Yongin-si, Gyeonggi-do Samsung Transportation Museum, the nation’s first automobile museum, is located near Everland. It serves as a children’s traffic safety learning space. The museum displays a collection of over 700 world-famous pieces including 50 cars, 15 motorcycles, bicycles, horse-drawn carriages, and other transportation-related articles such as vehicle prototypes, parts, hood ornaments, souvenirs, and artwork. There are many hands-on programs for visitors to learn about transportation safety.

The museum mainly consists of three sections. Samseongsan Holy Ground (삼성산성지)

Seoul 454-16, Hoam-ro, Gwanak-gu, Seoul During the Gihae Persecution of 1839, three French Catholic priests were sentenced to death for spreading Catholicism in Korea. Saint Laurent Joseph Marius Imbert (Bishop), Saint Pierre Philibert Maubant (Priest), and Saint Jacques Honore Chastan (Priest) were beheaded on September 21, 1839 at Saenamteo, currently known as the Saenamteo Catholic Holy Place of the Martyrs, and their bodies were buried at Samseongsan Mountain and later transferred to the grotto of Myeondong Cathedral.

Samseonggung (삼성궁)

Gyeongsangnamdo 86-15 Samseonggung-gil, Cheongam-myeon, Hadong-gun, Gyeongsangnam-do Samseonggung is a Taoist shrine located at 850 meters above sea level on Jirisan Mountain. It serves as a spiritual hub for practicing Sinseondo, embodying traditional Korean culture. In 1983, Kang Min-ju (Taoist Priest Hanpul), along with his disciples, restored the sodo, a sacred altar from the Gojoseon period. This shrine stands as a revered sanctuary, honoring the primal ancestors of the Korean people: Hwanin (Lord of Heaven), Hwanung (Supreme Divine Regent), and Dangun (legendary founder of Gojoseon).

Samseong Sunrise Park (삼성해맞이공원)

Seoul 39 Yeongdong-daero 128-gil, Gangnam-gu, Seoul Samseong Sunrise Park was opened in 2022 in what was originally a water supply facility. The park is located on a hill beside the Hangang River, offering beautiful views of the river and Seoul's landmark attractions such as Lotte Tower, Olympic-daero Boulevard, and Cheongdamdaegyo Bridge. The park also hosts a sunrise festival on the first day of every year.

Samseonam Rocks [National Geopark] (삼선암 (울릉도, 독도 국가지질공원))

Gyeongsangbukdo Cheonbu-ri, Buk-myeon, Ulleung-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do Samseonam Rocks is comprised of three rock pillars off the northern coast of beautiful Ulleungdo Island. The sea stacks were formed by waves breaking down a block of columner joints over time, leaving the three remaing stacks behind. The sides of the stacks are dotted with many holes, resembling honeycomb. The rocks name, meaning "Three Hevenly Maiden Rocks," comes from a myth that three heavenly maidens were so enraptured by the beauty of Ulleungdo that they missed their curfew to return to heaven and were thereby punished by being turned to stone.

Samsa Marine Park (삼사해상공원 (삼사해상산책로))

Gyeongsangbukdo 120-7, Haesanggongwon-gil, Yeongdeok-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do Samsa Marine Park is located south of Gangguhang Port, overlooking the expansive East Sea. Thanks to its picturesque beauty and various facilities, the park is a favorite weekend picnic spot for families. Major facilities include Theme Land, Happy Land, a performance hall, bungalows, restaurants, and stores. There is even an artificial waterfall and a 20 ton-rock carved with floral patterns that add to the park's unique beauty. Another must-see sight for visitors is Manghyangtap Pagoda, which was set up by those originally from North Korea. Every year on New Year’s Eve, a bell ringing ceremony takes place during the area’s sunrise festival.

Samnak Eco Park (삼락생태공원)

Covering an area of 4.89 ㎢ and stretching 7 km in length, it is a natural ecological park. The park features a wetland eco park for migratory birds, food field for migratory birds, lawn, wildflower fields, and eco walking trails. Additionally, there are various sports facilities such as outdoor swimming pools, soccer fields, tennis courts, and bicycle rental stations. It also boasts a natural ecological environment zone.

Sammaksa Temple (삼막사)

Gyeonggido 478 Sammak-ro, Manan-gu, Anyang-si, Gyeonggi-do, Sammaksa Temple is a Buddhist temple located in Samseongsan Mountain. Legend has it that the temple was established in 667 by Wonhyo, a Buddhist philosopher from the Silla era. Within the temple grounds are Cheonbuljeon Hall, Yukgwaneumjeon Hall, Myeongbujeon Hall, Manghaeru Pavilion, Chilbogak House, among others. The temple holds heritages like the Rock-carved Buddha Triad and the Fertility Stones. These artifacts, symbolizing the fusion of Buddhism and folk religion, highlights the ancient nature of the place.

Sammaebong Peak (삼매봉)

Jejudo 83, Namseong-ro 115beon-gil, Seogwipo-si, Jeju-do Sammaebong Peak is residental park popular among tourists. Oedolgae Rock is located near the park, toward the southern sea. At the top of the peak, Namseongjeong Pavilion offers an expansive view inclusive of Beomseom Island, Munseom Island, Saeseom Island and Seopseom Island, in addition to Marado Island and Gapado Island to the west. Baengnokdam Lake seems nearly within reach to visitors looking out from the peak. Legend has it that if you stretch your hands toward the sky at night, Canopus (the second-brightest star) is almost within reach. The place is regarded as one of everlasting youth, as Canopus is associated with lifespan. Visitors can exercise and enjoy at walk at the park during the day and in the evenings.

Busan 36, Taejong-ro 99beon-gil, Yeongdo-gu, Busan Fish cakes are one of the most popular snacks in Busan. Among many fish cake makers in the city, Samjin Fish Cake is the oldest fish cake producer. Its main store in Yeongdo looks like a bakery shop. Visitors can choose among a variety of fish cakes and there is a separate space in the store where they can eat purchased fish cakes. The experience hall on the second floor provides a chance for visitors to make their own fish cake.
