Busan 137 Oryukdo-ro, Nam-gu, Busan Oryukdo Skywalk is located at what was called Seungdumal, meaning a saddle, due to the shape of the point. It was also called Jallokgae by residents and female divers in the area. The construction of Oryukdo Skywalk began on September 12, 2012, at the Seungdumal area, which is regarded as the dividing point between the East Sea and the South Sea, and the skywalk opened on October 18, 2013, with the theme of "walking over the sky.” Iron columns were set up over a 35-meter-high coastal cliff, and a 15-meter glass bridge comprised of 24 glass plates and shaped like a horse’s hoof connect the iron columns. The glass flooring was made by four layers of 12-millimeter glass panels coated with a bulletproof film for a total thickness of 55.49 millimeters, making the structure quite safe. Visitors will be thrilled with the view of the waves while looking down through the transparent floor. The sea stretches out ahead of the skywalk, perfect for a photo op.

Oryukdo Lighthouse (오륙도 등대)

Busan 130, Oryukdo-ro, Nam-gu, Busan Oryukdo is a rocky island located in the oceanside of the Yongho-dong neighborhood. Depending on the tides, Oryukdo (“O” meaning “5”, “Yuk” meaning “6”) sometimes looks as if it is made of five or six islets. Several decades after the Busanhang Port opened (1876), a lighthouse was built (November 1937) in Batseom Island of Oryukdo to guide ships traveling to and from the island. Initially only 6.2 meters high, the lighthouse underwent renovations (completed in December 1998) and now stands tall at 27.5 meters. The lighthouse is home to an exhibition room showing photos of major lighthouses in Korea and boasts a stunning view of Busanhang Port as well as an unforgettable nightscape.

Oryukdo Islets (Busan National Geopark) (오륙도 (부산 국가지질공원))

Busan 137 Oryukdo-ro, Nam-gu, Busan Oryukdo Islets consists of six rocky islets located in the sea at the southern end of Igidae Park, appearing as either five or six depending on the tide. The islets, closest to the mainland, are named Bangpaeseom Island, Solseom Island, Suriseom Island, Songgotseom Island, Gulseom Island, and Deungdaeseom Island, with only the Deungdaeseom Island accessible to visitors. From the Oryukdo Skywalk at Oryukdo Sunrise Park, visitors can enjoy even better views of the islets.

Oryu Goarahaebyeon Beach (오류고아라해변)

Gyeongsangbukdo 277-8 Oryu-ri, Gampo-eup, Gyeongju-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do Oryu Goarahaebyeon Beach, located near Gampo Port, is known for its soft sand and is famous for sand baths. It's an ideal spot for camping, boasting a 1km stretch of white sandy beach, shallow waters, and a lush pine forest. Within the pine forest, there's a campsite where visitors can enjoy caravan or tent camping. During the summer, marine leisure facilities like banana boats and motor boats are available. Nearby tourist attractions include Songdaemal Lighthouse and Gampo Marine Park.

Orijangnim Forest in Jacheon-ri, Yeongcheon (영천 자천리 오리장림)

Gyeongsangbukdo 1421-1, Jacheon-ri, Yeongcheon-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do Orijangnim Forest is approximately 2 kilometers long, the same length as the Korean measurement of five ri (O-ri). It is also called Jacheon Forest due to its location near Jacheon-ri. The forest was split into two parts after a national roadway was built through the forest. Later, much of the forest was lost due to additional building construction, road expansion, and typhoon. Only some areas in front of Jacheon Village retain the old ambience. Orijangnim Forest was established to block the strong winds from entering the village, as well as provide bank protection and flood prevention. It is comprised of 280 trees from 12 different species including oriental oaks.

Order of St. Benedict Waegwan Abbey (성베네딕도회 왜관수도원)

Gyeongsangbukdo 61 Gwanmun-ro, Waegwan-eup, Chilgok-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do The Order of St. Benedict Waegwan Abbey, established by monks from the German Order of St. Benedict, serves as a sanctuary of peace and spirituality in South Korea. These monks sought refuge during the Korean War, fleeing religious persecution following the closure of the Abbey of the Holy Cross at Yenki in Manchuria and Tokwon Abbey in North Korea. In adherence to the teachings and spirit of St. Benedict, the monks at Waegwan Abbey dedicate themselves to a life of work and prayer, actively participating in Catholic evangelization and social work. Additionally, they contribute to the community through various initiatives, including publishing and printing at Bundo Book, managing farms, and running educational projects.

Ongjin Baengnyeongdo Dumujin (옹진 백령도 두무진)

Incheon 255-1 Yeonhwa-ri, Baengnyeong-myeon, Ongjin-gun, Incheon Dumujin, known for the most beautiful coastal scenery on Baengnyeongdo Island, is situated in the northwest of the island. Its picturesque coastal cliffs and vibrant rock formations, shaped by years of wave action, have earned it the nickname "Geumgangsan Mountain on the sea." Visitors can enjoy Dumujin from the sea aboard a cruise ship, or explore it on land by taking the Dumujin port road.

Omokdae and Imokdae Historic Sites (오목대와 이목대)

Jeollabukdo 55 Girin-daero, Wansan-gu, Jeonju-si, Jeonbuk-do Omokdae Historic Site is located on top of a steep hill and is one of the places where Yi Seong-gye, who later became King Taejo, the first king of the Joseon dynasty, stopped to celebrate his victory on his way home from a war against the Japanese army at Unbong Peak of Hwangsan Mountain. Across the bridge from Omokdae is Imokdae Historic Site, situated at the foot of Seungamsan Mountain. Approximately 80 meters downhill from Imokdae are memorial stones and a building where Mokjo, the great-great-grandfather of King Taejo, once used to live. The engraved letters on the stones are the handwritings of Emperor Gojong. Mokjo moved to Hamgyeongdo as a result of a dispute with the then minister of Jeonju, an incident which King Taejo believed to have laid the foundation for him to shape the Joseon dynasty.

Old House of Chang Ucchin (장욱진고택)

Gyeonggido 119-8 Mabuk-ro, Giheung-gu, Yongin-si, Gyeonggi-do The Old House of Chang Ucchin was the home of the famous Korean artist, one of the first to paint in the Western style in Korea. Chang created many works of art while living here from 1986 until his death. The house was registered as a National Cultural Heritage in 2008, and features a traditional house built over 120 years ago, as well as a Western-style building added on later, based on his 1953 painting "Scene with a Car." Visitors can see the red brick walls, black roof, and main entrance flanked by windows just like in the painting. The small hanok building is built in a square shape, with an anchae (inner room) and sarangchang (guestroom/study). The annex building is now used as a traditional tea house and gift shop.

Oksanseowon Confucian Academy [UNESCO World Heritage] (옥산서원 …

Gyeongsangbukdo 216-27, Oksanseowon-gil, Gyeongju-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do Oksanseowon Confucian Academy was built to commemorate the academic achievements and virtues of Confucian scholar Yi Eon-jeok (1491-1553). It was founded in 1572, the fifth year of King Seonjo’s reign, and received its current name the following year. It was one of the 47 Confucian academies that was ruled out from the Confucian academy abolition order made by Heungseon Daewongun. Although the building structures do not carry significant meaning in architectural aspect, the distinguished space arrangement of the buildings is hard to go unnoticed. Dokrakdang Hall, which was Yi Eon-jeok’s vacation annex as well as his study room, is situated 700 meters away to the north from Oksanseowon.

Okjeongho Lake Gujeolcho Theme Park (옥정호 구절초테마공원)

Jeollabukdo Maejuk-ri, Jeongeup-si, Jeonbuk-do Okjeongho Lake Gujeolcho Theme Park was officially formed in 2006 in an area that used to be called Manggyeongdae Terrace. Out of the park’s 12 hectare of land, approximately 5 hectare of land is filled with Gujeolcho (Siberian chrysanthemum) and a pine tree forest. The park also has walking paths and rest areas for visitors to enjoy.

Okcheonsa Temple (옥천사)

Gyeongsangnamdo 471-9, Yeonhwasan 1-ro, Gaecheon-myeon, Goseong-gun, Gyeongsangnam-do Okcheonsa Temple was built in the 16th year of King Munmu's reign (676) during the Silla dynasty. The name “Okcheon,” which means "jade spring," was derived from the mineral spring located next to the main hall. The temple holds several valuable cultural assets, such as the state-designated heritage Bronze Gong of Okcheonsa (Treasure No. 495) and 119 city/province-designated heritage properties, including Jabangnu Pavilion, Hyangno (incense burner), Daeungjeon Hall, and Daejong (bell). The linden tree at the Cheongnyeonam was designated as Monument No. 82 for its great academic value. There are other small temples nearby, such as Baengnyeonam, Cheongyeonam, and Yeondaeam. Those interested in learning more about Buddhism can drop by Yeonhwasan Provincial Park’s Bojanggak Hall, an exhibition hall built to preserve about 120 pieces of Buddhist artifacts.
