Donggung Palace and Wolji Pond (경주 동궁과 월지)
Gyeongsangbukdo 102 Wonhwa-ro, Gyeongju-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do Donggung Palace and Wolji Pond in Gyeongju are secondary palace sites of Silla. The palace, along with other secondary palaces, was used as the eastern palace where the prince lived, and banquets were held during auspicious events or to welcome important guests. It is also where King Gyeongsun of Silla invited King Wang Geon of Goryeo and had a feast to complain about the critical situation in 931 after being invaded by Gyeon Hwon. After unifying the three kingdoms, Silla's King Munmu dug a large pond in the 14th year of his reign (674), creating three islands in the center of the pond along with a 12-peaked mountain to the northeast. Beautiful flowers and trees were planted here, and rare birds and animals were raised. In the Samguksagi (History of the Three Kingdoms) from the Goryeo dynasty, there is only a record of Imhaejeon Hall and no mention of Anapji Pond. After Silla fell and the place fell into ruins during the Goryeo and Joseon dynasties, poets and calligraphers looked at the pond and recited a line of poetry that says, “The once splendid palace is gone, and only geese and ducks fly in.” That's why the place is called Anapji, using the letters 'an' for wild geese and 'ab' for ducks. In the 1980s, pottery fragments with the inscription "Wolji" were excavated, and it was confirmed that this area was originally called "Wolji," which means "a pond that reflects the moon." And the name Anapji was changed to Wolji Pond afterwards.◎ Travel information to meet Hallyu’s charm - "The Beauty Inside"Se-gye visits this place to refresh her mind after she argues with Do-jae over the contract. Being one of the most famous tourist sites in Gyeongju, the scenery here is enough to help you forget the argument that you’ve just had, especially at night.

Dongdaemun Fashion Town (동대문 패션타운)
Seoul Dongdaemun Fashion Town Dongdaemun Fashion Town is a vast fashion district located in Euljiro, Jung-gu, Seoul, and is one of Korea’s largest clothing and fashion distribution hubs. The area uniquely combines traditional markets and modern shopping complexes, forming a vibrant ecosystem that covers everything from textile production to retail sales. Overview & Features Designated as a Tourist Special Zone in 2002, Dongdaemun Fashion Town has become a must-visit destination for both domestic and international visitors. The district offers a wide range of products including women’s wear, men’s wear, children’s clothing, leather goods, sportswear, underwear, shoes, accessories, and fashion materials. Many shops serve both wholesale and retail customers, catering to large-scale buyers as well as individual shoppers. The area operates as a complete fashion ecosystem, where design, textile production, and distribution are all concentrated in one place — allowing for fast adaptation to fashion trends. The entire district stays lively day and night, making it one of the few places in the world where nighttime shopping is part of the experience. Main Shopping Complexes Dongdaemun Fashion Town consists of various markets and modern malls, each with its own atmosphere and pricing style: DOOTA Mall, Hyundai Outlet, Lotte FitIn – Modern shopping malls that operate mainly on a fixed-price system, offering a comfortable and organized shopping environment. APM, Migliore, Hello apM – More traditional-style shopping complexes where bargaining is possible and competition between shops creates a lively marketplace. Traditional wholesale markets such as Sinpyeonghwa Market continue to play a key role, where many local designers and manufacturers operate directly from their own stalls. Operating hours vary by building, but many stores stay open late — some even throughout the night — earning Dongdaemun the nickname “the city that never sleeps.” Strengths Fast Fashion Hub – The close connection between design, manufacturing, and sales allows new fashion trends to appear in stores within days. Wide Price Range – From luxury pieces to budget-friendly options, there’s something for every shopper. Tourist-Friendly Atmosphere – The district has grown beyond a shopping destination into a cultural landmark that combines fashion, food, and entertainment. Challenges With the rapid growth of online shopping platforms, some offline stores have faced decreased foot traffic and higher vacancy rates. The district is undergoing modernization to adapt to new digital retail environments and improve convenience for visitors. Tips for Visitors Bargaining: Negotiation is common in traditional markets, but most modern malls have fixed prices. Payment: Some smaller shops may only accept cash or charge a small fee for card payments — carrying some cash is recommended. Operating Hours: Check the opening hours before visiting, as schedules vary between markets. Compare Before You Buy: Similar items may differ in quality or materials — take your time to compare. Wholesale & Retail Differences: Wholesale prices are typically lower but may require a minimum purchase quantity.
